Landen LOVES seedless red grapes. He could eat them all day. So, I’ve been cutting them in half and giving them to him either for snack and sometimes as a side item with whatever meat & starch he is eating. But lately, he’s been begging me for my grapes b/c he likes that they are whole and throwing his down. Is it OK to give an ‘almost’ 18 month old “whole” grapes. I am asking b/c I know they are kind of a choking hazard. He chews really well. When do you stop cutting them? This is my first kid that eats anything (particularly fruit). kaden never ate anything that had t be cut up. LOL.
Wow I am behind we are still cutting in 1/4’s but Cooper has the shovel habit with food so I don’t dare do them whole. I guess you could try and see how he does. I would just make sure you are right there and know how to do the hinlick (I know I spelled that wrong) just in case.
I stopped cutting Brodie’s grapes around 18 mths old… maybe a bit older (20 mths old?). I just always made sure I was around when he was eating them. I haven’t worried about it for a while though.
Also, if they were seasonally big grapes (like huge) I would still cut them.
