InactiveYes, a journal or a hard bound notebook. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. I guess I had my mind fixated on the idea of a calendar or planner. But a journal with a binding would be fine. I can probably get one right at Walmart.

InactiveDid you get something, Christine?

InactiveWell, not yet.
I’m still using the little planner that I bought a few weeks ago. But I know they have hard bound composition books at Walmart, and I need to go get diapers and all that stuff soon so I’ll get one then. Tomorrow’s my appt with the attorney. I’m nervous, but it’s something I have to do. ndrose2007-4-3 13:18:53April 3, 2007 at 1:58 pm #29417Anonymous

InactiveThanks everyone! My friend Lisa will be here with my children (and her two!). I think she’s going to have it rougher than me.
I’ll let you know how it goes.April 4, 2007 at 7:22 am #29472Anonymous
InactiveChristine…5 kids- yes, that will be busy. Best to keep her armed with some Dora videos just in case!

InactiveWell, I ended up taking Myles with me. Lisa’s baby had his two month shots yesterday and he was irritable. I thought it would be too much, though she was certainly willing.

Myles was great. He played with some toys and then fell asleep on my chest while I talked to the attorney.

I have mixed feelings about what she said. She said she thought I’d have an 80% chance of getting full custody, but she felt that dh would probably fight me tooth and nail, and of course she could not guarantee that I’d win. She said that the judges in this town don’t take emotional abuse very seriously. But she thought I had a good case in the sense that I’ve done all the childcare since they were born and I’ve been a SAHM all these years. Also I have quite a few friends, my family doctor, and my pastor who have witnessed or been aware of what’s been going on all these years.
So, I have a lot of thinking to do. I am going to talk to another attorney as well.
Thanks for all of your thoughts and well wishes.

InactiveChristine,
I’m glad everything worked out and your friend was able to watch the girls. So it sounds like you have a pretty good case. I think it’s a good idea to get that second opinion & advice from the other attorney. It’s too bad the judges are so narrow-minded though…Good luck. I hope you can get things figured out.
