Ahhh, my favorite topic, POOP. Just wondering, what would be your recommendation for a good diaper that holds poop in the diaper well? Abby has been using the Target brand diapers (which I really like) but almost everytime she poops, it comes up over the top of the back of the diaper. I don’t know if they don’t have enough elastic to hold it down or what the deal is. She is in a size 3 (16-28 pounds) and she weighs about 17 pounds. The size 2 was too small and the same thing was happening. Does anyone know what type of diaper has good elastic on top in the back to kind of hold things together? I just got a new washer and dryer and I think I am going to wear them out soon as much as I have needed to wash her clothes.. Just thought I would ask the experts on this one, surely someone has had the same problem Thanks in advance!!

October 3, 2006 at 9:14 pm #14878AnonymousInactivehuggies supreme-not the huggies baby shaped fit
October 3, 2006 at 9:19 pm #14879AnonymousInactiveHmmm… I have the opposite problem (kind of). Myles pees up and out the top of his diapers. It drives me nuts, especially at night. The only diaper he doesn’t pee out of are of course, the most expensive diapers out there….the Huggies Convertibles….great diapers but I think they start at size 4.
I’d probably try Huggies Baby Fit or Huggies Supreme for her. I would not recommend Pampers Baby Dry or Pampers Cruisers. (I’ve tried them all with my three). My second choice would be LUVS…they’re surprisingly good at containing leaks, but a little stiff and not as baby shaped as some of the other brands.
October 3, 2006 at 9:23 pm #14880AnonymousInactivepampers baby dry just re designed their diapers-i guess they made them stretchy to compete with huggies supreme. i wonder if they are any good?
October 3, 2006 at 9:29 pm #14883AnonymousInactiveYeah, I tried them. They don’t compare but they are better than the old ones. (I have to try everthing that’s new and improved….just to see for myself).
October 3, 2006 at 9:30 pm #14884AnonymousInactivelol im like that too
omg i HATED the non stretchy baby dry! they were horrible.
October 3, 2006 at 9:37 pm #14886AnonymousInactiveI think that this just goes to show that every baby really is different. The only diapers that don’t cause issues for us are Pampers Cruisers. The Pampers Baby Dry weren’t stretchy enough, but weren’t too bad. Kaelyn leaked through Huggies all of the time and Luvs weren’t much better.
October 3, 2006 at 10:45 pm #14901AnonymousInactiveYeah, I know what you mean. I acutally LOVE the cruisers because they fit so nice and the tabs are the best, but my kids must be heavy wetters because they’d soak them so bad that pee would ooze out through the little pores in the diaper and their pj’s would stink like crazy in the mornings. It’s really too bad because they are the best fitting diaper out there.
Yeah, the baby dry’s were horrible but I think they’ve improved them recently. I got a sample in the mail. They’re better, but still not good enough for my baby’s sweet behind.
October 4, 2006 at 12:35 pm #14930AnonymousInactiveThe Huggies Supremes have always worked the best for us. Funny though,I did just buy the Pampers baby dry brand just because they have Elmo on them (Seth is so into him now so I thought he would like them!) and even Dh commented on how thin they are! Seth also leaked out onto my shirt this morning and I had to change before work. Needless to say, we are going back to the Huggies!!
October 4, 2006 at 1:02 pm #14931AnonymousInactiveAs far as leaking goes, I’ve always had the best luck with the White Cloud diapers, believe it or not. That’s what both of my boys wear. I like the Huggies supreme ones too though. We always had more leaks with Luvs.
I sometimes found that when the diapers started to leak (on the poopy side ) it was time to move to the next size up. (Even if they weren’t quite to the recommended weight). Or is that what you just did?
October 4, 2006 at 1:39 pm #14936AnonymousInactiveI use the white clouds for daytime because the convertibles are so expensive. I buy them only for night time. Myles never leaks out of the white clouds (at least during the day).
I agree with Heather on the size. I always diaper my kids in at least one size bigger than the makers suggest; sometimes 2 sizes bigger.
October 4, 2006 at 10:05 pm #14966AnonymousInactiveI used to swear by pampers with Sarah, but with Hailey they changed the way they’re made so that they have this thin liner that holds nothing.
Here’s my recommendation: COSTCO brand!!! (Kirkland’s, I mean). They’re made by Huggies and are basically the same as Huggies (though we’re in Canada so who really knows what’s what when you compare), but they’ve been great for us… no leaks of any variety! I bought a bag of Huggies and couldn’t wait to use them up to go back to my fave Kirkland’s. Same thing happened when dh accidently bought pampers, which I’m slowly using up. The only thing is that they come in these Jumbo boxes, so it makes trying them out for the first time sort of an investment, but after that I was really happy with them.
October 5, 2006 at 7:19 pm #15037AnonymousInactiveThanks so much for all the ideas and suggestions. We picked up a small package of Huggies Supreme and so far, so good. 2 big poopies and they have held them in both times. I do see that they are a bit longer which I think will really help out!! Hopefully it will be the solution, if not, on to the next recommendation – YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!!
