Do I confess?

I took it upon myself to up his dosage to 30mg of Prevacid solutabs. Luckily, the way his ped had me dose it before (15mg split and disolved) had me using 2 tabs a day, only half at a time, so I have enough. I saw an improvement when I went to 22mg and I wanted to see if there was better improvemnt with 30mg.

I have 2 questions-

1) Do I/how do I “confess” this to the dr? We go to the ped GI for the first time on Monday and I already know from another mom that she is not familiar with the Marci-kids info/dosing. ( I did send her some info this week in hopes she will read it before Monday)

2) (not dr related) He has had more “wet” poops today since I added the increased dose (just started this yesterday) This is what happened when we first started the Prevacid and still does happen, but he did have some drier poops here and there. Could the wet poops be from the Prevacid?

There is still some mucas in most of his diapers, but he is so congested, I am wondering if it b/c he is swallowing mucas. I am doing TED and taken out turkey and rice for just about a week and seen no difference in behavior or diapers.

You can do what I did. When I went to the new GI for the first time, Hailey was 22.5mg. I wanted 30. So when I went to the GI, I said that she was on 30mg, and he didn’t question it. He said he wouldn’t go any higher than that, and just kept prescribing 30mg from then on. That’s how we ended up at 30. Prior to that, I gave 30, and when I had to ask for more because we ran out early, I said that I had to use more because she kept spitting it out, or vomitting it out. Nobody questioned it.

Lori had some great ideas. Another one I’ve commonly heard is the “ooooops I accidentally had been giving more and …wow look what a wonderful difference it made!”.
