Does Neocate cause more gas and bad smelling?

My son is now on Neocate and his gas is worse than ever and smells way worse than before.

Is this normal?

When Alex was on Neocate it definitely made her gas and bm smell a lot worse. I’m not sure if she had more gas, or if it was just more noticeable because the smell was so bad!

Dagney didn’t have gas while she was on Neocate, but her bm’s smelled horrific, like really really chemically bad for a long time. Once she was eating more foods, it seemed to get a lot better, but it was almost embarrassing how bad it smelled!

Oh yes, the Neocate BMs smell horrific! I would say that Paige had less gas after switching to Neocate, but you could definately notice the smell a lot more if she passed gas.

How old is your little one? Is he eating any other foods, or just Neocate? I find Paige’s gas was TERRIBLE when we did solids trials, or when she was on breast milk and Pregestimil prior to switching to Neocate. For her, lots of gas and painful cramping/bloating has always been a symptom of food intolerances.
