InactiveI am going up there this afternoon to talk with the stupid billing lady again. I found my receipt for the first amount that I paid for with her writing on her business card showing what I was paying for….the exact thing she said I paid for yesterday! They are so out of order there they don’t know their head from their @$$! This is just the last straw with them. If it were their first mess up, I wouldn’t be bothered…this has gone on from our first visit. Its always something! It is a pedicatric group. It is so hard to find good doctors in a small town…a small college town too. Ugh!
Addy seems to be feeling better. I am going to call our family doctor from our “home” town in North Alabama and see what he thinks.
Thanks again!

InactiveSorry Tracy you are dealing with this. What morons. I may be too late but I wanted to say that Seth’s white blood count came back scary high one time when he was just a few months old so we were sent to the ER for tests. They did test him for a UTI and meningitis. Luckily, both were negative but they were HORRIBLE tests. They would not let us in for the spinal tap and I had to leave the room (Dh stayed) for the cathether (sp?) because I was getting too upset. To this day, I have bad memories of that night. Anyway, all this to say that maybe they can test Addy’s blood and if the white cells are high, it may be another indicator of a UTI and possibly avoid more invasive tests if she has other symptons as well. InactiveThanks Tiffany! I will ask the new doctor about that too.
So I figured it out! I did pay twice and they haven’t even filed one claim this year with my insurance. The billing lady is trying to refund it to my card now…her exact words, “I hope we can reverse the transaction, so that our administrators do not have to get involved.” Someone trying to cover their butt huh! I plan on writing a letter to our doctor (who I love, just wish she wasn’t in that group) about this and all the other situations with the business part of her office. It is ridiculous.

InactiveTracy,
Arggg…..That’s really aggravating! I’d be fuming too.
It’s like that where we live too. There’s only a handful of small clinics and only one of them has a pediatrician and that office has the worst policies and manners with patients that I refuse to go there. I just can’t stand to get the run-a-round when my kids are sick and all I care about is them and their health. That’s inexcusable that they haven’t filed any of your claims. You could be paying for stuff that’s covered!I hope Addy’s feeling better soon.
Therese,
Thanks. I’m surprised Liza’s docs never told me any of that about UTI’s. She had kidney reflux so she was supposedly prone to them but they never told me how serious it could be.

InactiveI finally got it worked out and she refunded my money. Wow! I hate being angry…I never get really angry and it seems the only times I have been really angry in the last 15 months is at doctors or doctor’s office workers! I guess I can be thankful for that, but boy I let that woman get to me!
Addy hasn’t been acting weird or anything since her episode so I am thinking she is okay…but I will definitely take her in to the other doc or the ER this weekend if she starts acting strange.
Thanks again!
