Now that we have Harry, I was thinking of getting a double video monitor. Does anyone have one or any suggestions on what to do with 2 kids? Right now we have a Summer video monitor and a Fisher price audio monitor. The sound on the Summer is so bad that we mute it and use the FP for audio. I know Dag’s a bit old, but I like being able to see & hear her too.

If you get any good advice about a good video one I would be interested b/c I go check on Cooper every night before I go to bed and it would be nice not to have to climb the steps so much.

We then bought a 2nd summer monitor and I realized that I can use BOTH cameras and just switch “channels” on the back of the TV to see each camera! I haven’t set it up in the nursery yet but it worked when I tested it out! I’m excited! Maybe you can contact the company and try to purchase just another camera but not the whole set? Or maybe check ebay for a cheap used one that is identical and would give you the 2nd camera?

Denise, I don’t have any suggestions since I never had the video baby monitor but I like Amy’s suggestion.
August 17, 2009 at 4:47 pm #63610AnonymousInactivei never had a video monitor, and i hardly even used my regular monitor–but i still check on sylvia to make sure her face isn’t covered in blankets or something—and she is almost 6 years old!!! i’m such a worry wart.
August 17, 2009 at 5:07 pm #63612AnonymousInactiveHey! Yes I am!!! I am expecting my next little refluxer…I mean, bundle of joy, at the end of November. It’s another little girl and we’re really excited!
August 17, 2009 at 10:16 pm #63616AnonymousInactiveSo exciting Amy! Congrats!
About the baby monitor- we still use the two separately… the video monitor for hailey (but never use the video) and the fisher price monitor for Sarah.August 18, 2009 at 1:28 pm #63624AnonymousInactiveThanks, ladies! Maybe i’ll try to get a new summer video and use the camera we already have. Our summer video’s audio was sooo bad that we just mute it and use the regular audio monitor. The Summer’s sound at the lowest setting was way too loufd and there was a ton of feedback & static.
August 20, 2009 at 6:13 pm #63660AnonymousInactiveOK, I must be a horrible mother!!! LOL! I started turning off the audio monitor with Dylan around 1 year old and I barely used it with Carter once we got him back in his room! (had him in ours after the episode at 2 month shots for a bit as I was a wreck!). I couldn’t stand the monitor because it was sensitive to even them just moving a bit in their sleep and it would wake me up….. Now, they just come in all night long for EVERYTHING!!
August 20, 2009 at 6:25 pm #63661AnonymousInactiveWe use the mobiCam. I’ve had it since Averi was born and it has been GREAT. I do believe you can add another monitor and switch b/t channels. I’m not sure though, as we don’t use a monitor for Ryan anymore. 🙂 It has night vision, and I’m a paranoid Mama so it’s been a wonderful feature. 🙂 HTH!
September 25, 2009 at 4:01 pm #64063AnonymousInactiveI know I’m a bit late on this post so you may have already bought but we have 2 identical Summer Video Monitors (a few of our friends w/ 2 kids have the exact same set-up as well).
We use the video & audio for each one in separate rooms. Brodie’s is on Channel A & Evan’s is on Channel B. We’ve never had any issues w/ them interfering w/ each other. That being said, they are a bit finicky sometimes w/ static but nothing that would make me change – you just have to position it just right.
Now, does anybody have any suggestions for when #3 comes?! (j/k) LOL. I think I will probably do video monitors for the 2 youngers & switch Brodie to a just audio monitor (though I do like to see him).
