InactiveWell, I finally called Dr. Phillips and asked him to contact my doctor. He said that he would. He also gave me the instructions for mixing the Zegerid.
He said:
Take the 40 mg packet and mix it with 6.5mls of tap water to make 10mls. Then he said to give her 2.5 mls AND 2.5mls of Mylanta Cherry Supreme for each dose. Is it just me or does this sound like an awful lot of Mylanta per day.
Let me know what you guys think.

InactiveI don’t know too much about it, but just wanted to wish you good luck. I know that others on this site have followed his instructions on how to prepare it. Hopefully someone can help you out.

Inactiveyeah, we had to do tums dissolvables instead of the mylanta, bc it was causing diarhea.

InactiveWe use the Tums too, but some of them have milk in them so be careful.
We actually use the Mylanta for one dose and the Tums for the other two.

InactiveYep, we use the “smoothies” – smooth dissolving Tums in the assorted tropical fruit. We bought the assorted fruit kind one time on accident and they had milk in the ingredients. The tropical fruit kind have the Parve mark on the front of the label.

InactiveDon’t feel like crap. Mistakes happen, and it was probably such a small amount that it didn’t bother him that much. If I thought about all the times I made mistakes with my kids, I would drive myself crazy!!!
At least now you know he is doing well on the Prevacid, and that is a blessing!
