Erthromycin Dosage

My dd has gained 1.5 lbs this past month due to prevacid, , so they adjusted all her meds accordingly. erythromycin is now at 2 ml three times a day….will being on erythro for months affect her negatively???

If she gets an ear infection, which antobiotic will work for her??

Is there any long term side affects of this drug that you guys know of, please let me know.

At what age can a child outgrow dge or is it permanent????

Bryce has been on Erythromycin for over a year and I have noticed no side effects with him. I do give him an probiotic every day because I figure it can’t hurt. I don’t know of any long term side effects. Bryce is 20 months old and has still not outgrown it, but I know some babies who have outgrown it before age one, so I think it’s just one of those things that depends on the child. I don’t know of any surgery that can fix DGE. Oh, and Bryce has had two ear infections and the antibiotics he was on were Omnicef, Zithromax, and Amoxicillin.

There is a surgery called pyloroplasty surgery, but you don’t want that sergery until is absolutly necesary b/c one problem get fix, but you may get another.

I have read that kids on PPI may have worst DGE b/c low stomach acids increases DGE b/c you need the acid to digets your food more efficently.

Many kids do outgrow DGE, Kendra has not been one of them. Her DGE right now is really bad due to a viral illness she recently had.

As long as you can keep under control with meds, things should be more managable.
