I know a lot of babies that have exema that don’t have allergies/intolerances. My niece had TERRIBLE excema…still does sometimes, and she was always able to eat anything.
yep i use free and clear as well.. and have been using the california baby organic shampoo.. (at target!). and before that i used the shampoos for excema.. ugh, i would hate to think i have to investigate and limit more foods…. its so tiredsome to even think that right now.
Lauren, Ben gets this sometimes too, and, like you, it makes me weary to think that it might be something he’s eating.. however, it does seem to really help if I use the Aveeno cream especially for eczema. I forget the actual name. I just make sure that I really put it on thick back there, and it usually helps a lot.
It’s hard to tell. Sarah doesn’t have reflux or allergies, and use to get excema on the side of her face. We don’t know what caused it. It didn’t bother her, and eventually went away.
I am kind of in the same situation. Well I think my sons eczema is food allergy related. I have read that it sometimes can be. He always has flareups when he drinks milk or has dairy products. The eczema only started when we went off of Alimentum and then started a milk base formula and when we went to milk it went downhill from then. Milk is the only thing I can come up with. I just can not imagine why he just got eczema at 12 months old when he started whole milk and milk products. We are going to an allergist next week. He may just have an intolerance to dairy. I do hope we find out. But if yours has had it since infancy it may not be food related.
