I have been dealing with this for over six months and have finally gotten a GI referral. Sebastian has been on Reglan and Zantac for four months now and they were working fine for him. I have always been worried about the Reglan but I was scared to change it when he was doing so well.
Over the last week he has hardly eaten any solids and has cut way back on his bottles. He has been waking up at night screaming and taking a while to settle back down and go to sleep. I took him to the ped. today, and he did not see anything wrong with him and said it must be the reflux. He increased his Reglan to .7 mils twice a day and the Zantac to 2 mils twice a day.
I told him that I wanted to see the GI specialist. He was good about it. He said that they would not be able to cure him, and they would just do the same thing he was doing but maybe give him Previcid or something. I felt like saying Duhh!!! that is what I have been wanting to do for months, but I decided to just wait to see the specialist and take it from there.
I have to wait until Wed. to make the apt. I hope it will not take too long to get him in. Hopefully the Dr. will be good and I can get him off the Reglan and on to a PPI. I am sure if I do I will be asking tons of questions. I am glad I know that I have all of you to help me out.
