Irritabilty during and after feedings is one of the classic signs of reflux. With my refluxers it always seemed like they were conflicted. They were hungry but feeding was not pleasant and relaxing like it was for my first baby, or for babies I took care of as a nanny. My refluxers squirmed, cried, pulled on and off of the nipple, pushed the bottle away, tunred their heads and overall were miserable during feedings. I remember once getting an email from (Joel) a man who used to work for Dr. Phillips at marci-kids saying that on the right dose of Prevacid the feeding difficulties would stop. I was so skeptikal, but sure enough it did stop for Myles once he was on a high enough dose of Prevacid. Ellie was never on a PPI and feeding continued to be a problem for her until she outgrew her reflux.
