Gagging himself

Seth does not do this all of the time but enough to drive me & DH nuts so I was wondering if anyone else’s baby/toddler sticks their fingers in their mouth far enough to trigger their gag reflex? At first, I thought he may be trying to feel his new teeth but he has been doing it for a month now. Then, I thought maybe his throat may hurt from the reflux??? Does anyone have any ideas?

I remember a thread on this a while back, but I can’t remember who started it. Maybe you can do a search. I’ll try later and see if I can find it for you. It seems like several babies were doing this.

I have no helpful ideas, but Kaelyn does this too. It goes in stages. She’ll go weeks without doing it, and then she’ll do it several times a day and then go weeks again.

Robbie does that all the time. I think he is just chewing because of teeth, though. He also seems to do it when he is eating, like he wants to understand how this swallowing thing works. I haven’t ever worried about it because he seems to almost enjoy it, like he figured out something cool.

Ashtyn still does this occassionally. She thinks its funny. I think with her she is just finding weird ways to discover her body.
