InactiveMy little one is bored with her toys, and the 6 month & up toys are good, except a lot of them require her to sit up, which she can’t do unassisted yet…we’ll be getting the bumbo chair to help with that, but I was hoping someone had some suggestions for good hand toys she can use in the bouncy seat/high chair/swing.
Thanks!

InactiveMy favourite toy is probably the leap start learning table, you can take the legs off and play on the floor in sitting or standing. Might be a bit advanced for her though. Also like the classic playskool pop up toy. Hailey loved the v-tech lights phone (can’t remember the name). That’s a hard age. I like the parents magazine bee bop band- lots of instruments for any age. Also like the play pianos, can’t remember who makes them. Board books are also great!

InactiveI remember that at that age my babies were prone to boredome as well. They get bored with all the little baby rattle type toys but they are not mobile and can’t sit yet so there’s not much for them to do to entertain themselves.
I used to move the from “station” to “station” all day to keep them entertained. 15 mintues in the Exersaucer, 15 minutes in the jumparoo, 15 minutes on the floor with a baby gym…etc.
One thing they all liked at that age was some time in the high chair with those little toys that have suction cups to stick to the high chair tray.
Also, I’d give them “non-toy” items like measuring spoons and cups, rubbermaid bowls and lids, even baby food jar lids washed and thrown into an empty formula can (a favorite toy for all of my three babies).
Touch and feel books were a hit at that age, as were books with flaps that open and close.
I have to go…..but if I think of anything else later I’ll let you know.

InactiveThanks! I move her from “station” to “station” too, but it gets old fast, especially on days where she’s more spitty and can’t really lie down to long. We were thinking of getting either a walker, or a jumpoer– the Chicco 4-in-1 Ride On Car looks really cool, but it’s kind of expensive. I also forget about rubbermaid stuff, and I’ll have to look for those suction cup toys.

Inactivemy son is 9 1/2 months and i am having this problem too. we have boxes of toys. they keep his interest for about 2 seconds but he much prefers the house phone, remote controls, hairbrushes, hand lotions, paper towel rolls, etc. my mom always said baby toys were a waste of money and i never believed her until now

Inactivemy son too LOVES toys that arent toys.. he loves plastic bottles! i really think thats your best bet.. i have waisted soo much money !he likes it the first time i show him it and than throws it down and could care less about it after that! but he does love the leap frog table thing too, that is one that has been consistant and he loves this “lamaze” toy, its a whale with teethers that hang off of it.
also if you dont have a jumpy i would invest in the fisherprice one that has the legs to it (that doesnt have to go in the doorway). and he loves his walker too.. but you just have to be careful with them!

InactiveLOL! Why do babies love to play with the silliest things? Is it because they see US using them? Sarah has figured out what the remote is for and will push buttons and then look up at the TV to see if she’s done anything!
Sarah loves plastic bottles as well. Her favorite thing for a long time (and still is) are her board books. I have a basket of them and she will pull each book out, turn a few pages, “talk” to the book, throw it on the floor and grab another book until the whole basket is empty. I’ll fill it back up and she’ll start all over.
We loved our exersaucer and jumper. DH wanted to get her a walker, but we never did and she’s so close to walking on her own now. Hope you find some good ideas!

InactiveAlana has a doll, smells delish…is made of washable stuff…and has shoe laces. She will play with the small bits of string that make the shoe laces for hours!!!!! She also loves the remote…the keyboard to the computer…the carpet…pillows (anything with a texture). I usually give her three toys at a time and rotate them every couple of days.
Her most favourite toy of all is not a toy…it is a “mirror” (one of those fake ones). She looks at herself and talks and laughs for ages (of course she is going to be a supermodel—the first chubby one
).She also loves it when I open the curtain and it is windy and she watches the trees.

InactiveI always rotated my babies’ toys and it does help to prevent them from getting bored with them.
