InactiveHas anyone tried this Nambudripads technique or the MRT testing for allergies? Jameson’s allergies seem to be getting worse with time. Wondering what we can do to stop the train…

InactiveHaven’t heard of that. Interesting.
I’m not trying to shove this down everyones throat, but it’s helped us out soooo much I thought I’d share.
Have you tried acidopholus or probiotics?
The one we are using is supposed to minimize allergy symptoms. It helps balance the good bacteria in the body. Here’s the link to the one we are on.

My 21 mth old takes 3 doses/day. We still have to watch his diet and give him the reflux meds, but I can tell how much better it makes him feel.
I’m sure it doesn’t work for everyone, but it doesn’t hurt to try. Just thought you may be interested. If I can help one other person with this info, it’s worth it to me.

InactiveIts interesting, because they seem to be starting to add probiotics to the formula’s over here- the more expensive ones anyway
. Maybe there is some research out there???December 6, 2006 at 9:57 am #19687Anonymous
InactiveHi Amy-
no shoving required- he’s been on them so long that i can’t remember when we started. we use a probiotic and digestive enzyme blend called kidzyme. i do think they help but recently i have noticed him refusing some of the small list of foods that we can give him…it’s scary to me that we could get down to nothing…

InactiveDo these help if it is just an intolerance? My daughter used to have a problem with Dairy…she has been doing fine on yogurt and cheese for the past several weeks, but sometimes I think that cheese especially is still hard for her to digest…is that what these things will do?

Inactivethe enzymes break down the food…and the probiotics help to restore the good bacteria to the gut which also aids digestion (this can sometimes be lost when they get a round of antibiotics which can kill all bacteria the good and the bad)…we also use george’s brand clear tasteless aloe vera which also keeps the esophagus and GI system healed and cleaned. i just put a splash of it in his sippy cup 4 times a day.
he doesn’t have a formal allergy from the pedi allergist. we prick tested him for 30 or so things when he was 9 mos old but nothing came back. but we had seen him drink whole milk and then break out in hives so we knew it was more than an intolerance. when the gi tested him via the scope, it showed the following formal diagnosis(at the bottom):
while he seemed to improve in terms of reflux to the point that we are off prevacid but still using aloe vera and eliminating all the foods that show an immediate reaction of hives, shiners, red ring on bottom, eczema, hyperactivity, GI problems, etc., we still see some of the once safe foods slipping off the menu as it appears he is adding new intolerances or allergies…
Allergic colitis-intolerance protein
Mild proctitus-inflammation at anus
Duadaudnum-increased eosinifilic mild duadinitus

InactiveHow would you know if you should try the enzymes? Just out of curiosity?
Just an FYI… Henry takes 12 Billion units 3xs/day. It’s a lot, but it’s what he needs to feel better.
I wouldn’t hesitate to give him more if he needed it. I’m taking waaayyy more than that!!! I take about 6 shots of it a day and some other thing at night. I’m sure this is something I’ve passed on to the kids from my body. I’ve always said Henry was ticked off the minute he came out

InactiveI gave enzymes because of the diahrea we saw. They immediately controlled it. But if I give too much I see constipation. That’s why I was sticking to one dose a day. Maybe if I go to pure probiotics I could up the dose but then how to we help with the poop?@!$%

I guess we’ll have to experiment!

InactiveWith probiotics, it constipates? I’ve just been making sure Henry eats his veggies and he’s good to go – haha.
I was using flax seed to help regulate him before. Haven’t needed it now though.
If it’s not one thing it’s another!!
