I am new here and I need lots of help!
Here’s the history of my daughter. She was born on 8-25-09 with Pierre Robin Sequence (cleft palet & recessed chin). She has a g-tube and it totally fed by that, nothing oral as she as an aversion and aspirates. She has severe GERD (she aspirates when she refluxes also). She feeds every 3 hours around the clock. It takes her 1 hr to be fed 3 oz of 26cal/oz Enfamil Prosobee via pump. She has be at 30 degrees on her right side and can not be moved for 1 hr after she eats or she will vomit/spit up. Even after the 1 hr she fed, the 1 hr after her feeding she still will gag/spit up/choke but all the formula doesn’t come up….just the stomach juices. She takes Previcid (compound) 2 MLs, twice daily. She is always constipated. Pedi has suggested giving her Milk of Mag, 1 ML 3 times a day but she seems to vomit/spit up alot more. Our other option is to give a sliver of suppository (sp?). Sometimes she still has residual in her decompression tube before her next feeding so we have an appt to see a GI specialist but can’t get in until Feb. Here’s what I need help with.
1) Does any one have any other suggestions to help with the pooping? When she does poop it is hard clay like.
2) Any suggestions to help with the reflux/vomiting/choking?
3) Any suggestions about anything!
