I have really had it. I have never cried so much.
Max drank a total of 15 oz today. He just does not want his bottle anymore. And he completely refuses solids now. Jack did pretty well, but then he projectile vomited everything during his bedtime bottle. He showed no pain or discomfort though/

We can try upping their prevacid to 30 mg. BUT – they won’t take the prevacid. We usually give it in applesauce, but now Max rejects it. WE tired tonight putting the solutab right in his mouth, and he spit it out. They used to do that all the time, or gag on the tab. So we are lost. giving it in the applesauce has caused Max’s solids aversion. I know it. So we have no clue how to give it to them! And if Jack wasn’t in pain when he vomited, does that mean the dose is high enough as it is? Even though they dont drink?

We found that applesauce made Natalias reflux worse. It has alot of acid. My doctor at Duke said they give them apple juice in reflux trials to flair it up. We do the liquid zantac and prilosec, so cant help ya there. Thats hard when they wont eat, poor babies:( Good luck.

Can you try and mix it some type of juice and put it in a syringe? When we used prevacid solu-tabs we put it in apple juice and in a syringe and then squirt it on the inside of his cheek.

have you tred zegerid?

you dont have to time with meals and can give it with formula.

also, check your prevacid dose on marci-kids.com calculator. i dont think the dose is high enough for their age and weight as my son is starting 27 mgs a day.

I’m so sorry things are so hard right now. I sure understand the frustration. I’ve been through it twice, though not two at the same time. I honestly don’t know how you do it.

I used a small medicine dropper to give Myles his solutabs. I’d dissolve it in about 2 mls of water, so it’s not a whole lot to give. He initially did not like it but he gradually began to like the taste would open his mouth as soon as he saw the dropper coming.

Personally I would go up to 30mgs. Maybe 22.5 just isn’t enough. As soon as Myles was put on 30mgs he was better (within days).

What formula are they on? Have you considered MSPI as a possibility?

I hope things improve soon.
