InactiveHave any of you seen a homeopathic physician before? We are giving it a try tomorrow morning and I am not sure what to think – but I am sick of doctors not listening to me and therapists that keep trying to pawn off issues so they don’t have to treat Christian anymore.
I am to the point that I think nothing can be worse than the PEG surgery he had in January. Granted the tube is doing its job he is gaining – but it is not dealing with the underlying cause of the feeding/lack of weight gain issue. So we are having a BodyScan done tomorrow and they say that this test (noninvasive – tests energy/stress levels) can “diagnose” over 6000 conditions that are often not noted in blood tests and xrays. Again – I don’t know what to think or expect. Christian has been through so much already – I don’t know what else to do.
Give me your feedback if you have any negative/positive experiences.
Thanks.

InactiveLaura,
We saw one several months back- I think it was in November or something. I saw a naturopathic doctor- same thing basically (but by her explanation, she said naturopathic MDs are trained in homeopathy and other things like chiropractics etc).
Unfortunatley for us, it really wasn’t terribly helpful. She suggested acidophilus, and then some “high energy compounds” that you can drink…did nothing for her, and they stunk and were very expensive. That being said, I do believe that alternative medicine has it’s place and has value, so I hope that your experience tomorrow is wonderful and helpful for Christian.
My theory is that it can’t hurt so what’s there to lose. We didn’t have a BodyScan though- I don’t really know what that is (is it a machine that they move over the body?).
Anyhow, good luck. I hope it helps. Sorry that things are still difficult for you guys. Hang in there.

InactiveI don’t have much time but i wanted to reassure you that homeopathy is excellent medicine. I see a homeopath and I think she’s wondeful; has helped me with things that western medicine was unable to touch. It may seem weird, but give it a try, maybe it will help. However, I wouldn’t discontinue any regular meds in place of homeopathics.

InactiveWhat’s a BodyScan? It’s not radiation I hope.

InactiveI think it is definitely worth a try. I have had great luck personally. I took Noah to see one, and even though he couldnt address the non-eating issue, I still found it helpful.

InactiveStacey – the bodyscan 2010 is little electrode (similar to that of the sweat test) that gather sweat information showing what vitamins and minerals are lacking and even the strain on the organs in a priority order. NO RADIATION…other wise I would never have done it. I still even after seeing it don’t understand how it truly works…but the computer spits out information showing the levels that are missing and what organs are strained.
Thais – Sorry I haven’t posted what happened. It was such a joke. The entire time the guy kept swearing to me that any person baby or not that had an eating problem would show a zinc deficiency. Then he runs the test and zinc doesn’t even show up. It showed he had a protein deficiency and his organ that had an issue was his pancreas. All the while this test was being done he had a severe ear infection and sinus infection….neither of these items popped up on this scan. So basically it was a huge waste of money and time.
The final suggestions – take a vitamin/mineral supplement, add phosphorus to his diet (guess it reduces swelling in the gi tract), take chamomile for fussy times, and add a whey supplement.
My opinion – the vitamins that exist for babies (from what I have found) taste and look like sludge – why would you add that to an oral aversion baby’s palate? I haven’t done any research about the phosphorus – but I know it is already in his formula, we have been using hylands Chamomile tablets for teething already. And he has an intact protein intolerance – SO WHEY is not yet an option. Waste of money and time.
I was really holding out for a miracle…..no such luck.

InactiveI was seeing an accupuncturist, she did a technique where you hold a vial of a substance and she pushes on your arm to see if you can tolerate it or not. She did it too the baby by putting it in her onesie and pushing on my arm. sure enough, on milk proteins, by arm got week. This is why i am getting her allergy tested. Ever think of doing that? Hope everything goes well with the body scan! Hope you get some answers. It’s not knowing that makes you want to pull your hair out!!!

InactiveJust so you know, not all homeopaths are bad. This guy sounds like a total quack, they’re not all like that.
I’ve also done the accupuncture allergy testing that Sarah discussed for me, and it was really fabulous. Not all acupuncturists will do it, because it’s not a traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) technique, but everyone I know who’s done it swears by it.

InactiveTiffany – I know that not all homeopaths are bad. It was just this guy came highly rated, having saved my chiropractor’s daughter from major surgery. I was truly surprised when it turned out negatively.
I actually used an herbalist to assist us in getting pregnant, although it didn’t completely work (both of us had issues), it did help straighten out my body a lot. I am thinking about seeing her again.
