Just out of curiosity, how much Zantac did your newborns take?

Lucy is about 10lbs and is on a .7ml dose. It’s working and helping, but I think the dose should be higher. Her ped doc won’t increase it at all.

Is .7ml for 10lbs a high dose? I wonder why the hesitation? I know she wants Lucy to see the gi doc (we go in Nov.) to make sure there’s nothing serious going on, but why not increase the med until it stops her pain?

Just thought I’d see what you all thought.

.7ml once a day? that is very low..

that dose is very low for a ten pound baby. when my dd was 2 weeeks old she was on .5ml 2xday then she wasn’t showing any improvement so they upped it to .7ml3xday. she was only a little over 8lbs at the time. it makes me so mad that there are so many options out there and some doctors are so stubborn

The working dose is 5-10 mgs. per kilograms. So if she is 10 pounds the low dose would be 1.5mls. On the high side it would be 3mls. That is if it is compounded and is 15mg/ml. The bottle should say on it what it is. Most Zantac is mixed that way.
