How do I give my ds his prevacid solutab if he eats solids at dinner. I now give him his prevacid at 5:00 p.m. and his solid at 5:30 and a bottle at 6:00. Will this work? Can I give it to him right before his solids on his empty stomach since it is 30 minutes from his bottle. Will it activate with the 2.5 ounces of vegtables or does it have to be activated with a bottle? I need help from you on how you give the prevacid and solids. By the way, he gets his first half of solutab at 9:30 a.m. before his 10:00 a.m. bottle. I now that this works, just not sure on the solid issue? Thanks for any help!

It doesn’t matter whether it is solids or formula, as long as the dose is given on an empty stomach 30 minutes before a full meal.

I give Myles his solutab 1/2 before a meal of solids. As far as I know it should not be given with the solids. You need to wait that 30 minutes in order to get the full effect of the medication. Ideally, Joel has said a meal of 6 ounces is preferable, but if your baby cannot consume 6 ounces (my son never does), than any amount is helpful.
