How to use Pepcid Complete with Prevacid

I am planning to give Adriana Pepcid Complete before bed tomorrow. What is a good way to space it out with her meds? I am kinda nervous about this but she keeps waking up and crying out when before she was sleeping better. Plus my doc won’t increase her Prevacid until she is 20 lbs.

Here is her current schedule:

7:30am 7.5 mg (half a solutab)

8:00am bottle and cereal

12:00pm bottle

3:30pm bottle and (carrots)

6:30pm 10 mg (half solutab and a quarter solutab)

7:00pm bottle

I’m pretty sure you have to space the PPI 4 hours from an H2 Blocker like Pepcid Complete. I’d probably give her the second dose of Prevacid 1/2 hour before her 3:30 bottle, and then the Pepcid Complete at bedtime.

yep, DR Phillips told me to give pepcid complete 4 hours after the PPI. i dissolve half a chewable tablet in a teaspoon of water.

Does anyone know why you have to wait so long? I can’t figure it out. If you’ve already taken the PPI and it’s already shut off the “acid pumps” then why do you need to wait 4 hours before giving the pepcid?
