Yes, we used Aloe Vera for a while and I’m probably going to start up again because we are trying a weaning down on Lucas’ dose of zegerid. I used Lily of hte Desert brand, got it at a healthfood store, like a Whole Foods or similar type place. Actually, I got it on the east coast while visiting relatives at a Whole foods, and on the west coast got it at Wild Oats. You want to make sure it needs to be refrigerated once opened and organic. The thread has lots of info on dosing, etc. Write again if you have more questions. The probiotics have helped us tremendously, as well. I use Primadophilus for Children, it’s a powder, can be mixed with several different kinds of liquids, given via syringe or cup, or bottle, etc. It really works to heal their gi tracts and introduces healthy bacteria that we’re supposed to have in our bodies to aid in digestion. My chiropractor suggested both of these things to us and they’ve worked quite well.
Is his diet completely limited in terms of acid inducing foods like no tomato, no citrus, no fizzy drinks, no peppermint, etc. etc.?? Is he pulling up a lot and crawling? Being upright really will help, the closer he gets to walking, it should help, unless there are other issues. I think you sound like a great candidate for aloe vera, if nothing else just try it and see if there are good results. It’s plant juice, and from what I’ve read on-line, shouldn’t have any negative side effects. It tastes a little like bitter apple juice, to me. Lucas took it via syringe and I called it “medicine” for him.
I hope this helps, I know how frustrating this can be!! Hang in there!!
