InactiveThe last time we went into see GI was in Feb. I thought everything was better and then with the flu season, my daughter is on and off sick and that aggravates her reflux. She’s all better now for the last 2 wks and we seem to have average once a day projectile vomits and its usually trigger by we trying to feed her solids(she takes NONE at all) or by her gagging on the nipple or like today, she was playing and got excited and gag and vomit. I posted earlier last week that we are starting to see her teeth are turning yellow, assuming it’s from all the vomits that she’s had. I have been using the infant gum/teeth cleaner once a day since she’s got those teeth in. So, I am wondering if this is still reflux? I feel so bad for her because I don’t think anyone’s baby has got yellow teeth from the vomits and maybe her reflux is not better and I have been under illusion since Feb. Our next followup with GI is in a month. She’s on prevacid 2x a day of 7.5 MG. I checked with our GI person and they said that the dosage is pretty high for an infant already. Any ideas and a suggestions? She’s turing one next week.

InactiveMy little boy goes through periods where he doesn’t vomit at all for days, even two weeks once. And then it just starts again. He did it twice yesterday after three days of no throwing up. It seems that reflux can come and go until it’s finally gone for good. I know it’s dissappointing when you think your baby is better and then wham(!), here we go again. It’s very frustrating.

I’ve never heard of any babies getting yellow teeth from vomit. I’d talk to the doctor right away about that. And maybe stop using the infant gum/teeth cleaner for now, at least until you see the doctor. I looked at that stuff and saw ingredients I didn’t like for my baby. I just use warm water until they are old enough to use toothpaste.

InactiveWe have 8 teeth here and 4 more coming in and none are yellow. I would also ask the dr about that. The way that I usually check to see if his reflux is under control is if when he is crying or screaming and mylanta calms him down then i know it is reflux. Vomit itself is not a sign of uncontrolled reflux but pain with vomit is. My son still spits up/vomits at least 6 times a day.

InactiveMy little sister’s baby teeth came in yellowish, it had to do with something about the enamel, if the dr doesn’t know why, take her to a pediatric dentist, they see kids as young as one!

InactiveCan you ask your family dentist about her teeth? Also, dd didn’t get better until she was on a higher dose of prevacid. She is on 30 mgs split 3x a day. It took a little of playing around with the dose myself to see if things helped, then alot of convincing the docs. But in the end, she started taking solids and eating better when things started to heal and she felt better. She was also in feeding therapy since 3 months old with a speech pathologist.
