Dory was diagnosed at 6 weeks, she has been on Prevacid for 3 months and was doing really well. She has gained A LOT of weight and was eating like a champ. But in the last 5 days she has started projectile vomiting again – formula only, not foods like cereal or fruits. And she is struggling with bowel movements.

Does this sound like a logical return to reflux symptoms?

Has the Dr. upped Dory’s dosage with her weight gain?

The dosage started at 8 lbs and was upped at 12 lbs. She is now 18 lbs and our doc didn’t up because we were hoping she could be weaned off the meds. I am starting to think she’s not ready to be weaned.

Oh I would say that it could be one of three things:

1 She is getting sick with a cold or stomach virus

2 She needs a higher dose of meds

3 She is teething

It is always alot of guessing but normally it is one of the 3 issues!

I have heard of several GERD babies suddenly developing an ALLERGY to the formula that never bothered them before. I would go for a different formula.
