Don’t be angry at yourself. You are human and it is a wonderful, selfless thing to give up the dairy for your daughter. It is hard, I know, but worth it!
Ditto to what Emily said.. Don’t forget you are doing the absolute best you can in very challenging circumstances. Ariella is lucky to have you as a mom.
Natalia, if the tablets come in 15 mg how would I up her dose myself? Do I give her 1 1/2 tablets? According to Marci-kids.com she can get up to 20 mg/the whole day. Unless I calculated it wrong. Ariella’s 13 lbs right now and she’s 5 months.
If she can have 20 mgs. I think the easiest thing to do would be to give her 1/2 a tablet three times per day. That would be 22.5 mgs, a little over the recommended dose, but you’d probably lose more than 2.5 mgs. with splitting them anyway, and I doubt 2.5 mgs over would hurt her anyway.
I fudged a bit on Hailey’s doses until I found one that worked for her. Then I went on a doctor hunt until I found one who I could trick into upping it. It wasn’t fun. I know it’s a PITA, but can you find a new doc? Maybe we can help you.
We also had a lot of trouble with teething, BTW. Unfortunately, Hailey’s 21 months old and is still teething!!! It seems like she’s never going to get all her teeth… we’re working on the eye teeth now.
Good luck.
