Jerking movements-Sandifers? Plz help

DD has Severe reflux, had an upper gi & is on prev 1-15 mg tab in am & 1/2 tab in eve. She weighs 13.2.

She is really having a reocurrance in symptoms. She eats, it comes back up & sits in her throat & she screams.

My new concern is the jerking movements she has whenever she gats *a bubble*. Her whole body will jerk back, her arms flail out or a leg or 2 will kick out. It’s akways after she eats & when she’s in distress.

It’s really scaring me.

I need more testing done too for the reflux, I don’t know what else to do for her!

Sounds like it could be Sandifer’s. Does she see a Gi? Can she get her dose of prevacid increased and see if that helps?

If I understood correctly, your daughter is on 22.5 mg of Prevacid a day. Just wanted to let you know that my son was still having Sandifers symptoms on this same dose, but it stopped when the dose was increased to 30 mg per day. Maybe that would help your daughter??

Thanks, I see the Doc on Friday, I sure hope he can do something else. He’s not a very proactive GI. Grr…
