Just when you think things are better!

I didn’t think it made any sense either. If the acid is still irrating her esophagus then I would think that it would bother her to eat. This is why I pushed for the higher dose of Prevacid. I just want to make sure she is on a high enough dose to repair her esophagus and not cause any permanent damage.

Yea, that is ridiculous. Emma ate regular formula without a problem before her reflux really started to bother her and she ended up having to switch formulas because of gas and stomach problems. She ate no problem. It wasn’t until the reflux began to bother her and cause pain (because it had gone on for so long) that she cried when she ate – and that was AFTER she was on a formula that agreed with her. She never fussed with any of the formulas we tried her on.

I can’t believe a GI would say that it was a formula issue!

Have you considered a soy based formula instead of the lactofree?? No matter how much prevacid my son was on, until we got rid of the milk protein (not lactose) he was never totally better. The protein can actually build up in your system and get worse over time. Keep in mind that a lot of babies who are milk intolerant are also soy protein intolerant. We were just lucky and Jason can tolerate soy just fine. Also, her twitching does sound alot like sandifer’s, which means she is in a lot of pain. How are her stools? are they mucousy?? You may be in for a formula change.
