The first baby food I tired was sweet potatoes. He spit up a ton the first day he ate them and he seemed fussier then normal. I stopped the sweet potatoes, I think I may try then again soon though, cuz it was not a very bad reaction. He is now eating carrots, winter squash, bananas, pears, and oatmeal with out any problems. I have noticed that the squash and pears make his poo really runny and the bananas and carrots make it hard so I feed if I feed him pears for breakfast I give him carrots for dinner, and likewise for the bananas and squash.
I tried peas and blueberries and he had bad reactions with gas, spiting up, rash mucus in his stools and everything. After having problems with two foods in a row I have held off on trying anything new for the last three weeks. I am going to try avocado this week and see how it goes. He had a set back with his reflux lately and was not eating at all so he is now just getting back on track after a med increase.
I have been considering trying the multi grain baby ceral that has rice, oat and millet, to see if a smaller amout of rice would still cause a problem. He has not had rice since he was four months old, so it may not bother him now. I am not sure if I want to take the chance or not. He has his first GI apt this month so I think I will see what she has to say about foods.
Let me know how it goes if you decide to try the rice again.
