InactiveHi Lori, I saw your post mentioning the comfy lift bed. Seth is actually out of his!
Dh went out of town a while back for a couple of weeks and he got in the habit of climbing out of it into the guest bed with me and eventually stayed in the guest bed all night. So, we just put some safety rails on it and alternate sleeping in there with him. Still not ideal (for our sleeping and marriage if you know what I mean
) but so much better than it used to be! He flops around a lot but I think it is more sleep related than reflux. He still has some occasional reflux flare ups but they are fewer and farther in between. At times, I almost think it is gone and then he will have a really bad night but I do think we are eventually going to get there! Our plan and hope is to set him up a big boy bed in his room soon and slowly get him back to sleeping by himself! How’s Hailey sleeping these days?November 21, 2006 at 2:17 pm #18645Anonymous
InactiveHi Tiffany! That’s great that he’s out of the bed! I would love to get Hailey out of it. Sometimes I think it might be making things worse b/c she slides down and her legs are off the end- she just doesn’t seem terribly comfortable. I’m SO SO glad to hear that Seth is getting better. As for current sleeping arrangements not being great for married life, I certainly hear you on that one! I’m embarrased to give the details, but let’s just say that dh is in the guest room and I’m in our room, sooo…
Hailey’s sleeping fluctuates, but definitely is still not where I would like to be. At her best, she’s up 3-4 times a night, two of those to feed. Our ped doesn’t want her off sleep feeds unless we go the tube route, feeling that b/c her aversion is so bad, he doesn’t think she will pick up the lost calories during the day. So for now, we’re stuck with what we’ve started. But, our new plan is to put up Sarah’s old crib in Hailey’s room (right now her crib is in our room, so I can get to her quickly before she pukes, hopefully). It has a normal mattress, so we’re going to gradually try and shift her into her own room and a normal mattress. She does sleep on a normal mattress at the day care, but she uses a pillow and sleep poorly.
Well, hopefully the new year will bring better sleep for those of us who are long overdue for some zzzz’s.
Thanks again for the update.

InactiveLori,
I was going to post to you, but just found this update. Sorry to hear you’re still at 3-4 times on a good night. Just to comiserate, I was sleeping in Lucas’ room from age 7 mos until 24 mos and still end up in there about 30% of the time. Dh was in our room all along. He says he’s happy to have me back in our room, but I think he got used to having the whole bed to himself! More than a year. We survived. Lucas even calls it “Daddy’s Room.” Pretty pathetic! It’s not pretty to make these decisions, but helps knowing I wasn’t the only one who ended up in another room.
I think of you often. I’m always sending good thoughts north your direction!!
