Medication ?

I know the medicince we have Maggie on is not going to be a permanent solution as she is still not 100% symptom free. She is doing better but still I know things could be better yet.

Anyway I have been reading in here about different medication and honestly I am not thrilled with having to give her medication 30 minutes before I feed her. I am not even sure how that is to work when most of the time she is asleeo 30 minutes before feeding etc. How do you all deal with that issue?

Sometimes it is just impossible We have a hard time with it but what has been working (for the most part) is giving him his meds as soon as he gets up then he eats 30 mins later. The second dose I try to give him 30 mins before his last cup of the day. Of course this is for a toddler so I don’t know if it helps you at all. Which medicine is she on? When Isaac was younger we used a protonix in a compound form. The compounds do not require any special timing of meals or anything Hope that helps

We are using axid right now. She is only 3 1/2 weeks old and cluster feeds in the evenings.

Maybe the axid will work for a long time and you won’t have to do a ppi. It is just so hard when they are so young with reflux

The timing was definitley not easy with Prevacid but it worked such wonders for my son that it was well worth the hassle.

What I used to do is sneak into his room and squirt the Prevacid into his mouth while he was asleep and then stick the pacifier in and he’d suck and swallow and then go back to sleep. Then I’d wake him up and feed him 30 minutes later. As they get older and their schedules become more predictable it gets a lot easier.
