InactiveHey ladies
first of all..Im so glad this board exists…anyways, some of you may know my dd was having issues (again) a few weeks ago and I was at a loss if it was meds or formula (shes currently on nutramigen)..well our dr. switched her to Zegerid and she is doing well on it, and had a barium swallow that showed her anatomy is normal..we are scheduling a probe, but my dr, wanted to give the meds time to kick in…anywayws, she is eating her normal amount now and isnt showing signs of pain, and actually sleeps at night (not all the way through, but not up every hour) and has actually taken a few naps….anyways..
Im still curious about the formula issue….she has runny/watery stools on Nutra, kinda always has, but when she does have a rare semi-formed one, it has mucous, I know thats a big allergy sign…my question is, why is it not everytime? Im so new to this…my son has allergy issues, but when he was little it was mucousy (and bloody) everytime…not just once a day or once every other day (she goes llike 4 times a day, but like I said its mostly watery).
I know it seems like a lame question, and to me screams allergy, but before I go bugging my dr AGAIN…I want to be sure its not some nutra thing…(My dr is awesome i just have issues bugging him so much cuz we finally got my son all figured out, and now Im calling or going in all the time for my daughter) I also want to be very sure before we try neocate, as my insurance does not cover it, and we can barely afford the nutramigen as it is…
Thanks, and sorry for the rambling on..
so instead Im bugging you ladies first….

InactiveI’m facing the same concern myself. Kaelyn’s allergies showed up as constipation and eczema. Now I’m concerned with Alexandra and her poops are exactly like you described. She’s having three or four a day, usually they are almost entirely liquid, but when they are somewhat more formed, they are mucousy. I brought it up to my doctor and he blew me off, but he also claimed that nutramigen and neocate were the same thing. So… I’m trying to decide if it’s time for a new ped. I’m really thinking that it’s due to an allergy, but I keep second guessing myself. Sorry, I know that’s not much help.
