I just posted this in MSPI but I’m not sure how much traffic that board gets so I’m posting here too:)
OK since I am pregnant w/ baby number and scared out of my mind to go threw what we went threw with the last 2 kids, I have done some research. After talking w/ Dr. F and Grants SLP I think I belive that my other 2 children had MSPI. Here are my reasons:
Jack( my oldest) was never really BF’d and had issues from birth with eating but started screaming his head off at 3 weeks didn’t do well on any formula, never liked milk or soy and still doesn’t even at 4yr old, will eat cheese in moderation same w/ yogurt. Had GERD and dysphagia
Grant- BF’d until 3.5 months suspected milk issue because of mucus in stool when started supplimenting w/ cows milk formula he started pooping egg white like stuff so we went to soy mucus stopped but eating was still bad. Once he was completely off the breast he stopped eating and would only sleep feed. By the time I wanted to put him back on the breast I had hardly any milk left. He has GERD and dysphagia. He will not drink milk wether it’s soy or regular hates cheese but loves yogurt. My theroy is that both my kids most likely had/have MSPI what do you think? I’m doing to do the MSPI diet w/ the new baby and breast feed in hopes that we don’t do down the same road. I know when dr F scoped Grant he said at first glance it looked like EE/ allergic reaction so my gut is telling my MSPI. Am I just crazy and looking for an answer when there isn’t or do you think I may be onto something? I’m totally freaking out about having another non eating GERDling. But on a good note Grant is eating almost everything but he still has the dysphagia which I assume will get better in time:)
Thanks!
