InactiveWe are using this to mix with Zegerid. Connor has been on it for 3 weeks. Four days ago he started having diarrhea…I really don’t think it is related but if you had a LO get diarrhea because of the mylanta, how soon after you started with the Mylanta did it happen?
He is also getting a tooth, but it is his 7th and he never did this with any other tooth so I don’t think it is that either especially since it has lasted 4 days. Maybe he just has a bug.

InactiveIT is certainly possible that Mylanta can cause loose stools. I know several mommies who noticed that happening. For us, it caused painful gas too. You can try mixing the Zegerid with a dissolved/crushed TUMS smooth dissolve tablet and a little water. Works as well, and should help solve the diarrhea problem.

InactiveI would just put a Tum in the bottom of a cup with enough water to get the amount i needed in mls to mix with the Zegerid. So, if you were say using 2 mls of Mylanta, then add about that much water to the tum and crush it and then draw it into the syringe with the Zegerid.

InactiveMy guess IS the mylanta. The only side effect of giving too much, is loose stools. 🙁 Can you try mixing the zegerid with Tums instead?

InactiveWell, here is how I mixed it. 6.5 ml of water and 10 ml of mylanta. Adding the mylanta mad more volume liquid wise so if I just mix 6.5 ml of water and the tums, would that be right? I would I do 16.5 ml of water so I end up with teh same volume of medicine?

Inactivehmmm… I’m not sure. When we used Zegerid, the buffer mixing was different then. I think your idea sounds about right to me. BUT… for your best info, I would try email Dr. Phillips. He’s the one that told me about the TUMS idea in the first place, so I’m guessing he would have the best idea on how to mix it with the Zegerid.

InactiveOk, he said I can use one tums smoothie and enough water to make 20 volume, so I figured it out. Its about 16ml of water maybe a tad more. Thanks ladies I have already mixed it up and waiting for his next dose. I just hope it works as well as with the mylanta!
