My doc wrote scripts for my twins for the 40 mg packets. We got them on Thursday. Connor gets 2.5 mls and Kaylee 2 mls, I fill the rest to 7 mls with Mylanta Cherry Supreme. Prior to this my daughter was very constipated, she would go, but she would go pellets. Now both twins have diarrhea. Kaylee went 3 times yesterday, started off just really soft, but her last one it was like it was so loose the diaper just absorbed it. That was the same for both today. I know if you give too much mylanta it will cause loose stools. Can this be from the mylanta? If so, what do I do since I now have the40 mg packets

Kristen- The Mylanta is causing the Diarrhea. Joel posted awhile back that they are looking for another way to buffer the 40mg packets because of this. ( He said he’d keep us posted if they come up with something else.) My son is on the 40mg packets with the Mylanta and we’ve started adding cereal to every-other bottle and that has really helped to thicken up his stools. You can also use a probiotic, such as Lactobacillus. It is a natural way to help with the bacteria in the bowel and it will help with the diarrhea. You can get it at GMC.
