Noah has a rash that has lasted for almost a week now. I’m still not sure if its food allergy/intolerance related. He has a few spots that are open sores and the rest is patchy red, and today lots of tiny red spots appeared. I’ve been using Desitin Creamy and it hasnt done any good. This is his first real rash and the only other cream I’ve ever used on my other kids when they were little is called Bottoms Better. It worked miracles, but I dont think its made anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions for a really great butt cream?

including high amount of zinc oxide, ingredient in Mylanta/Maalox, and
more.June 7, 2006 at 9:55 am #9266AnonymousInactiveThat sounds like a bad one too! Poor Noah! We have used many different kinds on Isaac and have found this kind to work the best and it is also really cheap. We let him air out alot too and do warm baths like sitz baths.

Monistat twice per day will get rid of it if it is fungal and won’t hurt if it’s not. If you try it and it clears up in two or three days (typically what happens), then continue to use if for several more days to prevent it from coming back.

We did have one that couldn’t be cleared up by regular diaper creams and she needed nizoral script. Also there are different types and concentrations here so best to call your docs office and ask.
Also, our new favourite diaper rash cream here is called CANUS L’il Goats diaper cream. I love it!!! We used to use desitin (which in Canada only has 37 percent zinc oxide), but I found that it didn’t always clear up the rashes and smelled from a mile away. This one is really cheap for a big tub and Sarah reports that it “feels good on her boo boos”, and has cleared up some nasty ones on both girls. It’s made with 40 percent zinc oxide, goat’s milk, urea (to stop burning), paraffin and other soothing and protective ingredients.

luck with boudreaux’s butt paste. My husband bought it one night
just because of the name – ha!!!! It did wonders for the boys and
I recommend it to everyone. I know Wal-Mart and Walgreen’s
carries it and you can get online too. In fact, I think they will
even send you a free sample. Hope he feels better soon.June 16, 2006 at 2:05 am #9873AnonymousInactiveHere’s a link to previous discussions:
