Yeah..I’m pretty sure it was Elecare he told me about…is that what your children had to be on?

Doctor called and the blood they drew today (which took forever to get from a heel stick) clotted so they got wacked out numbers and so they want me to go to hospital for a veinous pull because if the numbers are only half right then her electrolytes are really messed up but he thinks its just because the blood clotted. I HATE having to have her poked AGAIN…last week it took 7 tries/pokes to get a test done for her heart condition and that was at the hospital!! Dr thought if her electrolytes were that far out of wack she would be looking really bad so he told me not to worry…but I still have to have her poked!!!

You poor thing, you must feel like you live at the Dr/hospital, anywhere sterile. At least it sounds like they are treating it all a bit more seriously. keep us update and goodluck!

Poor sweetie.

Is the blood test being done at the lab, ER, or what? I learned from a friend of mine to specifically request a person with pediatric experience to draw her blood.

I hope it goes well and they only have to poke her once.

Hello-
I’m just now reading this thread for some reason. I agree with what Christine said about having someone with pediatric experience draw the blood. Because of my son’s heart condition, his blood is very hard to draw (and he’s had to have it done SO many times) so we usually take him to the children’s hospital if possible. Of course, you may already know this.

Hope it goes well for her.

Well the stool culture is back and it tested positive for Clostridium Difficile Colitis..mainly get it in hospitals (gee, thats where we’ve lived for the last 8 weeks basically, and caused by antibiotics such as ammoxicillian….which she will be on for the rest of her life. They have medicine for it but is harsh on system so since she’s had it so long now and the diareaha is lessening and so are the adominal cramps they aren’t going to treat her..just let her system get rid of it..unless she relapses…guess the drugs to treat this can be just as harsh on the GI system.

I’m sorry to hear Hope has C-diff. Just one more thing to deal with, huh? My doctor was telling me recently that probiotics can help with c-diff (as well as prevent it). Have you tried probiotics with Hope? We use one called Culturelle for Bryce. We just give it to him through his feeding tube. It might be a good idea if she’s on antibiotics a lot too. (sorry if you already do this ).

Hope she gets feeling better!

Poor sweetie. I’m sorry to hear she has C-diff. That’s good that her diarrhea is lessening, though. I sure hope she can fight it off without meds.

I agree with Heather, pro-biotics may be a good idea if she’s on antibiotics long term.
