InactiveMy two and a half year old daughter has been complaining for at least the past three weeks that her stomach hurts. Her complaints come a minimum of once a day (occasionally more than once). They also come completely out of the blue with no set time frame, etc that I have noticed. The complaints sometimes come in the morning, mid afternoon, or evening. We never know when she’s going to complain.. she can be playing and then stop in the middle of playing and tell me her tummy hurts, or sometimes it’s before or after meals.
She has thrown up twice in the car, both times were after drinking either milk or juice, both times she complained of her tummy hurting before she threw up. One day she came up to me after eating a snack and said her tummy hurts and then immediately threw up. A couple of days ago, she told me her tummy hurt and had about three runny diapers and then she was fine. These few incidents happened over a course of the past two or three weeks. There were more incidents that I can’t remember .. I just started keeping a log of everything. When she was an infant, she had reflux bad and would projectile vomit. She was on zantac for awhile until she got a little older. She has been diagnosed in the past with dysphagia (sp?) where she has problems sometimes swallowing liquids and has problems with penetration and aspiration. We thicken her fluids for this. She still coughs and gags at times because of this but she’s never thrown up with it. The doctor said that her reflux as an infant is more than likely the cause of her swallowing problems. I am putting this here in case it might be related to the most recent events with the stomach aches and throwing up.I am going to be taking her to the pediatrician in a few weeks for a follow up on her swallowing issues and I am going to bring up the stomachaches and everything. I am keeping records of it all between now and then so the doctor can see what she’s doing.
Does this sound like relux or something else?? Can teething cause this? (I ask the teething question because she’s been trying to cut her 2 year molars for over two to three months or longer now. Grasping at straws here. thanks

Inactivemy kids have celiac disease—you can always have them check for that, although the tests aren’t as accurate until they are about 3 years old. if you have good insurance, the test doesn’t cost very much. if they decide to do a cope on her make sure they do plenty of biopsies.
