InactivePeyton sleeps on his tucker wedge at night. It has been working great for us. I was wondering if babies who slept on the wedge for several months had a hard time adjusting to sleeping flat in their crib once they outgrew their reflux. He is not at that point yet but I was just curious. I am trying him sleeping flat during his naps but he doesn’t sleep longer than 45 minutes if that. Thanks for your input!

InactiveWe recently took Cooper’s wedge out of his crib b/c he was moving all over the place and not really sleeping on the incline that much. Anyway he has done fine being flat, btu I suspect your wedge is a higher incline than the one we were using so I am not sure how peyton will do.July 30, 2007 at 3:49 pm #40162Anonymous
InactiveHmmm, i think he will do fine, many babies use the tucker wedge and i am sure they adjust afterwards, heck he’d probably love to be free afterwards!
. And my cousin had to do the carseat for the 1st 5 mos of his life, but transitioned fine to the crib afterwards. Maybe you can transition to a smaller wedge that goes under the sheet and than to nothing? Thats great that it is working for you guys, shane would have nothing to do with it, and we wasted all that money! now dh just straps him to it, and watches him try to crawl and walk around with it on his back.. they BOTH thinks its so funny.shanesmom2007-07-30 15:53:04

InactiveI am not sure how much of an incline it provides because we never had to use one. I just wanted to add that we transitioned Sarah from her swing to her crib around 5 months old and she did fine. Her reflux had been under control for about a month at that time. Good luck!

InactiveThanks! Peyton took about a 1 hr 15 minute nap flat yesterday but it alot of resettling him by patting his back at first. I might try him flat at night soon but am hesitant because we are finally sleeping 3-4 hours at a time on our wedge and don’t want to break our “streak”
. That doesn’t sound like alot but it’s better that the 1 hr at a time at night that we were getting!AbyPeyton James 5/7/07July 31, 2007 at 12:39 pm #40214Anonymous
InactiveAby,
Caden never slept with a Tucker wedge, but we did have his crib mattress inclined for the longest time. Starting at 6 months we tried him flat on his back, and he did ok but still didn’t take a long nap. Now, at 9 months, he sleeps flat on his back in his crib for every nap and usually naps anywhere between 1 1/2-2 hours. I don’t think he had a problem going from inclined to flat – I think it was just that at 6 months he still had some reflux, and he was waking from that.Good luck! -
