Not sure what to think…..

I have a 8mth old foster son who is on allimentum. I thicken it with rice cereal(beechnut) since the powder is so thin. We switched him to the allimentum since he could not poop on anything else. That problem is solved,but now a new one is here. Every so often he will just start screaming and this is usually accompanied by spit up that smells horribly acidy. Now 2 of my others had reflux to the point that they were on neocate and prevacid so I’m pretty familiar with all of it. He has me confused though since this does not happen everyday. He did it this morning,but that was the first time since Tuesday. You can tell it hurts him. Any suggestions? I don’t know if they would want to put him on anything since it isn’t very frequent. I know he is refluxing when this happens-you can here it and he gets congested for a short time after. Thanks for any advice!

Is he eating any solids that may be aggravating it on certain days?

No solids. He has a pretty strong gag and it’s a real challenge so we are holding off on those for now. Thanks though!

Maybe try Nutramigen, Neocate, Or Elecare? I know they are all similiar, but some kids do great on one and not so good on another.
