Nursery Water

This is a long shot – but I thought that I would at least ask. I have Tyler on Nursery Water. I assume they sell this everywhere. Purified water with Flouride added that they sell by the Gallon. I started using it because we have very hard city water with no Flouride added. The hard water was causing a buildup in the pot I was boiling in and I felt the chemicals may be harsh and worsening the spit up. Anyway – has anyone experience problems with this or flouride making spit up worse. I just want to explore every possible avenue until I find the right “cocktail”. Thanks

We use sink water (not boiled per ped) when we are at home and nursery water when we are out. Both have flouride in them but i think you really have to use flouride for their teeth.

your city water has chemicals in it?

Well the chlorine and such that they use to “purify” it and it is really hard water so when I would boil it it would leave chlorine residue in the pot that would build up. I am not very trusting of our city water which is why I boiled it for a while and then decided to use the Nursery water instead.

We have always used the nursery water (14 months now) and never had a problem with it causing spit up. He did spit up a lot early on but it got better when we went on Prevacid so I don’t think it was the water. My SIL though did tell me that it upset one of her twin’s tummy (non refluxer) so she quit using it.

Also, I did want to mention that two of Seth’s teeth came in with some brown spots on them and I have oftened wondered if it was because of too much flouride.

i think that the residue you are seeing build up in your pot is hard water minerals, not chlorine residue.
