InactiveHave any of you heard of an osteopath? If so did you go or know someone who went and did it make the reflux go away? I just talked to a lady who is dealing with a 5 wk old that seems to have reflux. Her doc says she’s just spoiling the baby.
Just thought I’d throw that in there. Anyway, she said she took her first reflux baby to a osteopath and the babies reflux went away. I told her I would take this baby too if that was the case. The only problem is that she has to fly to go see him. Anyway, I also told her if she went and it worked to let me know. If she does go and it does work I will let you all know. Just curious if anyone on here has gone and it worked.March 22, 2007 at 11:39 am #28180Anonymous
InactiveI have taken Hailey to one of the best osteopath’s in our city. She has extensive training with children, and is also both a physio and OT. We started taking Hailey when she she was about 3 months old (if my bad memory isn’t failing me!), and took her weekly for A LONG time, until we graduated to every two weeks, and then just more recently every month. We haven’t been since November.
Personally, it made no difference in Hailey’s reflux whatsoever. The theory is that if the vagus nerve which is at the base of the neck is being compressed, then that can cause reflux. But these are typically not the cases where there are intolerances etc.
Also, since you have already taken Justice to a chiro, it’s likely that they have done adjustments around that area anhyhow.
Just my two cents. I loved our osteopath, but really it did nothing for the reflux.
Anyhow, I thought that his reflux was gone?

InactiveJustice’s reflux does seem to be gone. Well, unless I eat any kind of dairy or beef. Last night I had to give him mylanta before he would go to sleep.I ate some Easter candy that was made with milk chocolate. OOps
. I am curious for any other moms on here and also any moms that I might help along the way. This is my 4th or 5th mom that I have talked to with a baby with reflux. If it works I would love to start recommending it. Also, if it works I could possible have a reflux free baby in the future. I think every child I will have will have reflux, so we are planning to adopt our next. I would still like to have another at some point though, but sure don’t want to deal with reflux again. I have learned a lot, but most of what I have learned is that you can get them some help, but you will probably be dealing with sleepless nights for a long time. I am also thinking about writing a book.March 22, 2007 at 5:37 pm #28232Anonymous
