InactiveSorry I missed this. How’s he feeling?
Hailey also passes quite a bit of gas at night.

InactiveSimethicone is really the only OTC medication out there for gas. It is often included in most OTC antacid preparations, but you can get it by itself. Some common brand names are Mylicon, Ovol, Phazyme, Gas-X.

InactiveHi guys, well oddly enough we quit the bedtime Mylanta dose altogether and although he is still waking once with reflux, he does not seem restless all night long with gas like he did. Also, I think the Mylanta at bedtime may be too close to his PM Prevacid dose so maybe we were actually making it worse. We’re going to try just doing the Mylanta on demand.
We tried the Mylican drops when he was an infant and they did not seem to really help but I suspect at the time his reflux was not under control so maybe we can try them again.
Thanks.

InactiveUPDATE: Seth did not wake at all last night!!
No Mylanta at bedtime and none during the night. I am going to shoot myself if we were making things worse by giving him the Mylanta before bed. Please keep your fingers crossed that this is not a fluke and he continues to improve at night. We really need some sleep.April 16, 2007 at 11:38 am #30654Anonymous
InactiveThat’s great! I hope it’s not a fluke and he begins to sleep well every night.

InactiveThanks Christine, I forgot to mention I did give him the Little Tummys simethicone drops last night. I figured they can’t hurt. I plan to do the same thing tonight.

InactiveI hope things continue to go well without the Mylanta…it actually caused gas in Brianna too.

InactiveLori, it’s worth a shot but then again I am willing to try anything now.

InactiveI’m the same way! I swear there was stretch of about a week a couple of months ago where Hailey was only waking 1-2 times a night, and was going back to bed quickly after her night feed. I was so desperate to figure out what did it, that I wouldn’t change anything- I wouldn’t change the sheets, the pajamas, the bed time, nothing. It was short-lived, but was nice while it lasted.
Hope that things continue tonight!

Inactivewell, I must have jinxed myself- Seth had a horrible night. So bad, I feel like we were paying for our one good night.

I did get overly confident though and let him have a popsicle with some ice cream in it so that may have been the culprit since he still does not do well with milk.
Here’s hoping tonight will be better!
