InactiveI remember a thread on this before but I can’t find it – just wondering if anyone had any birthday party venue ideas for kids? Although Seth’s birthday is not until December, some of the places get reserved early. I have looked at an inflatable place which was great but $$$$ and then of course there is Chuck E. Cheese. I swore last year I would NOT have his party at home again (just too hectic with the holidays) but now I am thinking of renting an inflatable for the backyard but then the weather at that time may be an issue (although last year it was 70+ degrees at his party and the kids were all outside).

InactiveNot sure if you have one around you, but Claire’s is going to be at The Little Gym. They do it all.. snacks, cake, goodie bags, games and then time in the gym for all the kids.

InactiveWe do the girls party at the indoor pool where there is a zero depth area with spinklers and water slides (park districts) we typically rent out the entire pool for the party and everyone has a blast! Their birthday is end of April early May, so you never know what the weather is like here. The Little Gym is great as well, we have been there many times for parties.

InactiveI’m so glad you started this thread as Kaden and Seth have *almost” the same B-day (and year too!) and I sure do know how stressful it is. Do you have the worst time trying to figure out which weekend in Dec to do the party on with all of the other things going on? ugh!

InactiveThanks everyone, we do have a pool w/ playground here that you can rent that I checked out but unforunately, they will only do parties on Sunday evenings during the winter which is out for us. I forgot about Little Gym. I’ll check it out. I also thought about Build a Bear but they have ‘blackout’ dates around the holidays.
Jill, it is crazy having a Christmas baby. The past two years we have done his birthday the weekend before the holiday and his actual b-day but even then it is a busy time for everyone. This year, I have decided I am going to do it early on Dec. 1. That will give him time to actually enjoy his b-day toys before Christmas. I figured this would also help out the relatives that live further away so they are not coming out back to back weekends. People have suggested celebrating his 1/2 birthday in the summer. Maybe when he is older and understands it more, we may even look into doing that and then just doing a small family thing on his actual birthday.October 11, 2007 at 10:15 am #44096Anonymous
InactiveI’ve also thought about doing an early Dec. B-day this year, b/c last year was just so stressful for us and everyone else and Kaden was so overwhelemd with toys all in 1 week. I don’t think he knew what to do with them all and could appreciate them really.
So I KWYM! I’ve also had people tell me that summer b-day parties are successful for Christmas babies (when they are old enough to understand them) and we’ve also thought about this for when he is older I’m all for it. My poor parents! My neice and nephew were born Feb 2002 and Jan 2005 and with Kaden Dec 04 and Landen March 07 they have Grandkid Birthdays that are Dec, Jan, Feb and March with all of the holidays in between!

InactiveWe also opted not to have Hailey’s 3rd birthday at our house, there was NO way I was going to have the time to clean as busy as my job has me these days. We went to a local pizza place that has a party room a small game room (toddler friendly, not like Chuck E Cheese) and minature golf. We had a blast, everyone loved it!
