InactiveHi everyone:
For those of you that believe in prayer, I have a prayer request for you. My daycare provider found out last Thursday that her husband (only 52) has cancer of both lungs and the spine. They started radiation on Friday but the prognosis is not good at all. She is dealing with it fairly well but I am sure any positive thoughts and prayers would be appreciated. She said having the kids around really helps keep her mind off of their troubles. I don’t know if I could be that strong. She is such a great lady.
Thanks in advance!!
Robin

InactiveHey guys – all the postive thoughts and prayers must have paid off. When I dropped the kiddos off at daycare yesterday morning, Kathy (my daycare lady) said the oncologist said her husband had stage 3 and 4 cancer in both lungs – very negative prognosis. She was so upset but said they were going to see the surgeon yesterday afternoon. So, when I went to pick up Kayla and Abby, she was basically dancing for joy. They had gone to see the surgeon and he asked them what the oncologist had told them. They said the thing about the stage 3 and 4 cancer and the surgeon just rolled his eyes. He was looking at the x-rays, mri’s and other tests and said the only thing in his lungs was air – CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???? He did say there was something “suspicious” in his lymph nodes around his lungs but said they can be surgically removed no problem and that the cancer in his spine area can be successfully treated with radiation. He had a much brighter outlook for them and really was reassuring that it could all be treated.
It is such a miracle!! I guess there have been a lot of other people who have seen this oncologist, been told they only have not long to live, got a second opinion and found out the same thing- THAT HE WAS WRONG!!! How can doctors be such idiots? I guess it is a valuable lesson to get a second opinion before the doctor begins digging your grave
.Anyway, sorry this got so long but I just have to say “Thank You” for all your thoughts and prayers. It still may be a difficult journey for them but it certainly looks better!!

InactiveThat’s great news, Robin!

I’ll continue to pray for them because like you said, it still isn’t going to be easy for them, but what a blessing to find out it’s likely treatable, instead of definitely fatal.

InactiveIt really makes me mad that doctors can say things that scare you so bad and get away with it. I am happy things are looking up though.

InactiveWow! Isn’t prayer amazing? I’m so glad to hear that things are looking a little brighter than they expected. I’ll continue to keep them in my prayers.

InactiveThat’s great news! I’m glad to hear it. I personally would file a complaint against someone who was known to give such wrong information so frequently. Doctors need to have some accountability for their actions.
