Stoneycypher- Good luck trying to get those answers from the bellybuffer people I have been trying for awhile & have found out a little but I wldlike a list of the different products & what they do/are for. Why are there different types. What I do know is they have one type to be used w/zegerid & the other for prilosec, prevacid & other PPI’s except zegerid(because it has buffer in it, I think is why it needs different product). I also know that Tummycare Max does not have calcium bicarbonate in it & that is what can cause gas, so if your having gas issues that wld be good. And that one is used with Prilosec, Prevacid products.
As for MCS I went this morning to buy the stuff to make the Zegerid/Omeprazole/MCS mix but couldn’t find it either. The lady at Walgreens told me that it was discontinued or something she said they pulled it all the shelves, so who knows?? I bought tums extrastrength instead. I think you can use that. As far as the using Zegerid/Omeprazole mix interchangably with Prtevacid I’m not sure & I had asked a similar question because I’m in the exact same boat as u. The Dr will not give me enough. I told him that when I break them in half they crumble & baby spits them out so I wld need a few more & I got very lucky & he perscribed me 60 when I only should need 30 but I’m going to have to see if he’ll do the same again next month?
This is my opinion on it & I am still pretty new to all this but I personally wouldn’t mix the two. I think your best bet would be to try a different PPI. They sometimes a different one will work better? I think that’s what I’m going to do & use the bufferbabies (or whatever) so that I don’t have to worry about giving it on an empty stomach. I tried to give you as much info as I can but I don’t know much. I just know what you mean about asking questions & only getting an answer to a portion of it.
