Hi Tiffany –
We have actually been using the Whole Foods 365 brand mostly, although we’ve used other kinds when they are on sale. I think there’s one called Pacific Rim – does that sound familiar? We’ve used that, but I’m not sure about the sugar content – I have to admit that I’ve worried so much about other things that I haven’t paid much attention to the sugar content. The 365 brand seems to be the one that Owen drinks the most of, plus it’s relatively inexpensive and goes on sale often, so we’ve used that the most.
We actually took a big step this weekend and started Owen on one cup a day of soy milk again. Only between 4-6 ozs and we’re giving it with his morning snack/lunch in case it caused any discomfort – but so far so good! We’re using that Silk Kids Fortified kind – I think you had told me about that to begin with. I’m wondering if the first brand that we used had extra ingredients that bothered him? Whatever it is, so far we have seen no diarreah, no out of the ordinary fussiness, and he was back to sleeping through the night this weekend – until 7:30 am yesterday! We’ll see – I want to do this for a week and if he seems ok then we’ll add a cup in the morning.
Are you planning to try soy milk any time soon? I forget, does Seth eat much soy? He doesn’t, does he? What does your doctor think about the low fat content in the rice milk? Not concerned? I never know if I should worry about that or not.
