Ok, so my daughter has ROTAVIRUS AGAIN!!!!! Although it is not as bad as the first time, I am just feeling sorry for her having it again……..she is in good spirits though. And the last time she had it, her reflux was AWFUL!!!! I did call the dpc and he said to up her Prevacid until she feels better……well until she gets over the Rotavirus.

On top of this…..we just got a prescription formulated for her for her lactose intolerance….and now I will not be able to tell if it is working until she gets over this. I feel SOOOOO BAD for her and I wish I could take all this away from her and have it rather than her.

Poor sweetie. That darn rotavirus. I had it once (along with my kids) and it was awful, but fortunatley it usually does pass pretty quickly. I hope she gets over it quickly. Is she staying hydrated? That’s the most important thing to watch for.

They have a rotavirus vaccine now….but only newborns can get it. It’s great for the new babies being born now. I wish it was around when my kids were born, as I’m sure you do.

I’m curious, what prescription do you have for her lactose intolerance?

Ugh, we had this BAD our first winter with Maxon…. I think 4 or 5 times. You know that it makes them temporarily lactose intolerant so your formula change is good no matter what.

The biggest thing is to keep her hydrated. When Maxon wouldn’t eat we would use a medicine syringe and give fluids regularly around the clock. I mean every hour or every 2 hours… we even set the clock in the night. We would give him soy formula, water, or a mix of 50% water and 50% Pedialyte (he hated Pedialyte). Of all the times he was sick, we never ended up at the hospital.
