Inactivealso Lori correct me if im wrong.
you have to give a minimum of 3.5 ml at a time with compounds. i saw your post on the mothering forums where you said the dose is 1.5 ml daily.
that doesnt even sound like the correct dose to me though?
also, 8 days will not really tell you if your daughter has MSPI issues. many moms have to eliminate dairy and soy for a month to see a difference. milk and soy proteins can really make reflux flair up. they made my son miserable even though he was on proper medication.

Inactive1.5 ml twice a day.
Where do I find out the correct dossage for a compound?
Besides not eating the items is there anyway else to tell if its a food allergy?

Inactivewhat is the mg/ml? it should say on the bottle. then i can tell you how man mg she is on daily. im pretty sure it wont work anyway, if you dont give a minimum of 3.5 ml. when my son was starting caracream i did not know this, and was giving 2.5 ml at a time, and it was as if he was on no meds at all. it was HORRIBLE, he refused to eat anything because he was in pain.
many babies have intolerances, not acutal allergies, so there is no testing that can be done. and even allergy testing is higly innacurate in children younger than 5. so basically, your only choice is eliminating the suspected foods 🙁

InactiveThanks for your help. I found the correct dosage. Printed off even more information and we are on the way back to our dr. We have very good communication so she is so open to us be an advocate to our daughter.

InactiveIt’s so great that you have such a wonderful pediatrician helping you out. That is definitely something that not many of us reflux parents have the luxury of at first until they witness it first hand. So good for you and I’m glad that your doc isn’t blowing you off! I’m so sorry that you are having such a rough time with her. We had many days like this too. Quinn was actually hospitalized at three weeks old, but not for weight loss, for pneumonia. Our doc didn’t listen to me that something was wrong… Q projectile vomited too a lot. So I have an understanding of what you are going through. I didn’t have much luck with the compounds. AS much as a pharmacist will say they are mixing it properly, most of the time, they are not, resulting in no relief for your little one. Our best luck was with the solutabs. I do hope your little one can get some relief quickly and pray that she doesn’t need the hospital.
