or failing that, s’plain it to Janna Only 4 hours of broken sleep last night and several short 20-40 minute cat naps today – and she usually wakes when I put her in her bed.
She seems to be getting relief from her meds but still isn’t sleeping very well. She has developed a rash on her bottom, I think it’s the thrush making a comeback (the sucrose in the BufferBabies probably isn’t helping) We’re slathering with Sudocrem and doing BioGold Pro B but as you know it takes awhile.
We’ve already had courses of Diflucan and Nystatin and I’ve used Gentian Violet in the past and am thinking about starting that again. Anyone know if Gentian V will irritate her reflux further?
I think it could also be reflux that’s waking her only she’s not spitting up – I’ve heard her get a bit gurgly when sleeping and will wake a bit and clear her throat and sometimes (and sometimes not) go back to sleep. She is sleeping on a 30deg.
Failing a velcro sleeper and wall to match I’m not sure what else to do with her sleeping arrangements. Try as she may, Mama can’t hold this baby girl upright 24-7.
Anyone know a way I might improve the situation?

Sadly though I don’t recommend any sleep training until they have outgrown reflux. I will say though that I don’t it’s all that uncommon for babies to not sleep well. I have heard other moms of babies without reflux that their babies wake every hour also. I felt I was alone in it since it seemed everyone around me had babies that slept really well. I really hope someone has some great advice. The only thing that got us more sleep was to let my son nurse on me all night long. Meaning he stayed latched on all night long. I thought I could never sleep that way, but I was amazed that I could.

When is her last dose and what is her total dose? When Hailey was small I also had to keep her sleeping on me all night, it was the only way that we could get any rest. Hopefully someone can offer you some better advice!
Has the special bed wedge come yet- is that how you’re getting the 30 degrees? Hang in there.November 27, 2008 at 12:01 pm #59033AnonymousInactiveWe’re good with the sleeping now – due to her seizure meds. Neuro thought it was seizures keeping her awake. Never-the-less the meds make her quite drowsy so we have achieved sleep.
Now it’s feeding that’s more of an issue.
