spitting up after meds

although he rarely has, aidan has spit up 2 times while i am in the process of giving him his soltabs, I have figured out why (i think). i was mixing them with water and giving him the medicine through a dropper and i think i accidently put the dropper to far in his mouth, anyway, I always wait 2 hours after he has eaten and try to time it 30 mins before he eats again, but even with waiting 2 hours, both times he spit up he still spit up what looked like a good deal of his last bottle…my questions are

1-is the prevacid going to be less effective as his tummy does not seem empty 2 hours aftr eating? and

2, if he spits up when i am in the middle of giving him the meds, did he spit all the prevacid out, should i give him more or wait til his next dose and just let the first one slide?

Kaelyn ate every two hours when we first started her on prevacid, so her stomach was never totally empty. I suspect that this is why she needed a pretty high dose of prevacid, but it did work for her. Of course, this isn’t real medical advice, but I’d try to stick to the empty stomach/30 minute before eating rule and then not stress about it if the meds seem to be working. If the meds don’t seem to be working then it might be worthwhile to look into compounded meds or zegerid.

Whenever Kaelyn seemed to spit up most of her dose, we would give her another dose but make it half of the original dose.
